Reviews: Fingal O’Reilly, Irish Doctor

DownloadedFilePatrick Taylor’s latest novel in the Irish Country Novel series is just as enjoyable as his other novels. Fingal O’Reilly, Irish Doctor picks up with O’Reilly and his new bride Kitty after they return back home to Ballybucklebo to his many patients and life in this small Irish community.

This book is different because it takes you from the present (1960’s) with O’Reilly to his past when  he was courting Kitty right after he started working as a doctor fresh out of school. It makes me think of a movie the way it goes from the present to past in O’Reilly’s life. Taylor wrote it in away that you never became confused at what time period you were reading about. That I think would be hard to do as I have found other authors try the same thoughts with their story line and I was left feeling that I had no clue at what was going on.

If you have not read this series yet I recommend it.
