Review: Shadow of the Titanic; The Extraordinary Stories Of Those Who Survived

If you are a huge Titanic fan as I am then you will want to pick up this one. I read this earlier this year after the 100th anniversary of the sinking. It tells about the many people that survived the Titanic that you might not read anywhere else. Most of these survivors had to deal with extraordinary circumstances with the fame, and attention that they had received. A few survived the sinking only to face defeating ends in other ways. A book you would want to read if you are really interested in the history of the Titanic and the first hand eyewitnesses on what happened on that memorable night. With a few pictures of the survivors, you are able to visualize in your mind the horror, and the aftermath of their tragedy while feeling close to their struggles as well. I loved reading this one and felt that I had a better understanding of how it must have really affected their lives. I also enjoyed finding out more about these survivors than I have heard anywhere else. This book also helped to prepare more for next week’s book review.
